The Power of Community in Our Walk with Christ
My Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I hope you are all having a wonderful week!
As I was watching the Olympics with my sister, we were captivated by the team gymnastics competition. Naturally, our eyes were mostly on Simone Biles, a legend in the sport.

However, when the team award went to the USA, it wasn’t just because of Simone’s incredible performances. It was the collective effort of the entire team that secured their victory. Each member had a crucial role to play, contributing to the overall success.

This reminded me of an important aspect of our Christian journey: the significance of community. Just as each gymnast’s contribution was essential for the team’s success, we, too, rely on our community to support and uplift us in our walk with Christ.
Reflecting on my high school years, I realize how my friendships influenced my faith. Back then, my friends weren’t close to God, and as a result, I never developed a deep passion for the Lord. But that changed when I met a guy named Beni. He was around my age and had a genuine passion for evangelism. One day, he invited me to his church’s home cell, also known as a life group.
My first time attending the home cell 8 June 2022
Attending the home cell was a transformative experience. It was my first time participating in such a gathering, where church members met every Wednesday to share and grow together. I was 21 years old then, and I was deeply inspired by the people I met there, especially my friends Josh and Elijah, who were younger than me but remarkably passionate about the Lord.
Being surrounded by these devoted individuals ignited a spark within me. I believe that inspiration leads to transformation, and because I was inspired, I changed. Their enthusiasm and commitment to their faith inspired me to seek a closer relationship with God. Being a part of this community played a pivotal role in my spiritual growth.
Since then, my relationship with the Lord has flourished, and I’ve come to understand the true power of a supportive Christian community. Just as Simone Biles and her teammates needed each other to win, we, too, need our faith community to help us navigate the challenges of life and grow in our relationship with God.
Have a blessed week further,
Timothy
