Remembering God’s Power

Hey Friend 🤩

This week, I’ve been enjoying growing closer to God in such an amazing way. I've started reading the book of Acts—one chapter a day—and wow, it has been such a journey. I’ve been learning a lot. I stumbled across a story that completely caught me off guard. It’s in Acts 5, and I had to share it with you 🙂

Here’s the story summarised I hope it can inspire you to read your Bible for more details:

In the early church, believers voluntarily gave money to the apostles as a way of sharing resources and helping those in need. They were moved by God’s power and generosity to live in unity and support one another. Ananias and his wife, Sapphira, sold a piece of land and decided to keep part of the proceeds for themselves.

There was nothing wrong with keeping some of the money, as they were not required to give all of it. However, the problem was that they lied about it. They presented the money to the apostles, claiming it was the entire amount from the sale, in an attempt to deceive the church and gain recognition for their generosity🫣

Peter, through divine wisdom given by the Holy Spirit, confronted Ananias, exposing the lie and emphasizing that their deceit was not just against people but against God. As a result, both Ananias and Sapphira were struck dead—first Ananias, and later Sapphira when she repeated the lie.

3hrs later they found out Sapphira also lied

It’s wild, isn’t it?😅 God struck them down instantly. At first, I was shocked. But then, I realized this story is a profound reminder of God’s power and holiness. It shows that God takes obedience and truth seriously.

So why did I want to share this with you because while this passage highlights the negative consequences of disobedience what came to my mind wasn’t the negative effects but it reminded me of God’s power even though we see the negative effects in this passage I can only imagine the positive side of the effects that God can do in our lives, just like he struck them down instantly killing them God can make a miracle happen in your life when we walk in obedience and faith. Within an instant he can change your life which is so crazy to think about .

- Trusting God for a spouse? God can place the right person in your life.

- Struggling financially? God can provide ideas and opportunities you’d never imagine.

- Fighting depression? God can fill you with unexplainable peace and joy, lifting you out of that dark place.

And he can do that all right now!!! As you are reading this he has the power to do it now.

Sometimes, as people, we imagine a future where we’ll finally have all the things we desire. But here’s the truth: when we have God, we already have everything we need.

I’ve experienced this firsthand. During a season of depression, I constantly wished for a way out. But looking back, I can see how God used that time to draw me closer to Him. It wasn’t easy, but through it, I grew in faith, eventually found my purpose, and learned to trust Him completely.

So, here’s my encouragement for you today: Always remember God’s power. Yes, there are consequences when we step out of His will, but there are also endless blessings when we walk in obedience. God’s miracles are waiting to work in your favour. Trust Him. His plans for you are far greater than anything you could imagine.

Stay rooted in faith,

I love you and God loves you💛
