Welcome to September!

Happy September! I hope this message finds you well and filled with anticipation for what God has in store for you in this new month.

This weekend, I decided to challenge myself by running on my treadmill at home. I set the timer for 20 minutes, determined to give it my all. The first few minutes were easy, my legs moving smoothly, my breath steady. But as the minutes ticked by, fatigue began to set in. By the time I hit the 15-minute mark, my body was screaming at me to stop. I wanted to give up, but then I glanced at the timer and realized I only had 5 minutes left. That’s what kept me going—the knowledge that the finish line was just a few minutes away. I pushed through those last few moments, and when I finally hit 20 minutes, I was exhausted but victorious.

This experience reminded me of where we are in the year. It's the 1st of September, and we’ve entered the final stretch of 2024. Just like those last 5 minutes on the treadmill, this is the time to push through, to persevere, and to trust that God can still do incredible things in your life before the year ends.

September ushers in a unique time on the spiritual calendar, marked by the beginning of the month of Elul in the Jewish tradition. Though Elul is part of Jewish observance, it’s themes of reflection, redemption, and repentance can resonate deeply with us as Christians. Elul is a time to draw nearer to God, to examine our hearts, and to prepare for the new things He has in store for us.

In this season, we are encouraged to seek God's guidance earnestly, asking Him to remove any obstacles or distractions that may hinder our walk with Him. It's also a powerful time to bring our desires and dreams before the Lord, trusting that He hears us and is ready to act on our behalf.

My mom recently reminded me of something profound: during this season, God’s heart is especially open to our prayers. Whether we’re longing for breakthroughs, healing, or new opportunities, this is the time to ask. The Lord delights in answering our prayers, and He invites us to come to Him boldly, with the assurance that He is ready to bless and guide us according to His perfect will.

As we move through these final months of the year, let’s keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, trusting that He can do more than we could ever ask or imagine. Let’s take this special time to seek God with all our hearts, to ask Him for the desires He’s placed within us, and to prepare ourselves for the incredible things He is going to do.
